What it is
The Last Free Thought is a cyberpunk visual novel by Barsian Gaming Studio, set in Vesper City in 2049. Neural implants linked to AI let people think faster, but every AI-assisted thought consumes tokens. You can buy them from corporations, trade them with strangers, or earn them by selling your skills, personal data and even memories. Your sister Nia's neural-care license expires in less than an hour, you don't have enough tokens to save her, and the corporation that controls the network offers a way out at a price. The game has a branching story with 7 endings. You manage scarce tokens, examine corporate contracts, and decide whether to trust the in-game AI assistant, ECHO. The tokens and memory trading are part of the story; the game itself doesn't need a real AI account or payment. The author's AI disclosure on the page lists AI assistance for code, graphics, sounds and text, without naming a model.
