What it is
Aliveville is a browser-based AI world simulation experiment by developer Sarthak Agrawal. It is set in a village called Ashment: you pick a hero, walk around the 3D town and click on villagers to talk with them. The five villagers are driven by AI and have their own schedules, secrets and relationships. They remember people, hold grudges and gossip, and the trust they place in you can grow or be lost. When they recall the past, they only bring up what is relevant to where they are and what is happening to them. The world keeps moving even when no one is playing, and a director system nudges the story forward when the village goes quiet.
Who it's for: players curious whether AI characters can live their own lives and who enjoy exploring and observing, as well as anyone interested in AI agents.
Before you start: it runs directly in a modern browser, free, with nothing to download and no account needed. You move with the WASD keys. The author has published the source code on GitHub.
