What it is
Project Remis is an open-source desktop tool by GitHub user Drlinglong for translating game mods with AI. It currently ships as a Windows installer. You import a mod's source files, pick the languages and glossary, let a model translate, then run format checks, repairs and human proofreading before exporting or deploying back to the game. It works with cloud models or a local model endpoint, and keeps projects, glossaries and translation memory on your machine. The author says it handles Paradox games and other formats, with RimWorld and Project Zomboid still in preview. A person signs off at every step: paid translation and repair runs, exports and file overwrites all wait for your confirmation. The author says the interface is available in 11 languages.
Who it's for:Players and translators who localize game mods into other languages.
Before you start: Only a Windows version is confirmed, and there is no mobile app. With a cloud model, the source text, glossary and context go to that provider, and you pay its rates. Exporting and deploying overwrite mod files, and only run after you confirm. The source code is AGPL-3.0; the documentation, data and related assets are CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, for non-commercial use only.
Based on the project's public documentation. Not tested by AI Inspiration World.
