What it is
web-quality-skills is a set of Skills Addy Osmani open-sourced on GitHub. The README describes it as unofficial and based on Google Lighthouse audits and Core Web Vitals. The six Skills cover a full audit, performance, Core Web Vitals, accessibility (WCAG 2.2, including screen readers and keyboard use), SEO and best practices, with web-quality-audit coordinating the rest. When browser tools are available, it measures the live page first, then reads the source to find causes, and ends with a report graded by severity, each item listing impact, evidence and a fix. What sets it apart is that it asks for measured findings and code-only guesses to be reported separately. The README says it works across stacks, including React, Vue, Next.js, Astro and plain HTML.
Who it's for:indie developers and designers who want a thorough check before a site goes live. Readers who don't code won't get much from it.
Before you start: install with npx skills add, or as a plugin or extension in Claude Code, Codex (version 0.122 or later) and Gemini CLI; on claude.ai, the README says you can add SKILL.md to project knowledge or paste it into a chat. Live measurement needs tools such as Chrome DevTools MCP, the Lighthouse CLI or PageSpeed Insights; without them it can only run static checks. The repo includes an analysis script, analyze.sh, so look through it before installing. The README calls its thresholds recommendations. The license is MIT.
