What it is
voice-prompting is a Skill from the voice-ai-skills collection by Mahimai Raja J. (@voicexprt on X). It targets common failures in voice agents and phone bots: markdown symbols read aloud as "asterisk asterisk," dates and numbers mispronounced, and sentences so long that callers cut in before they finish. It splits the system prompt into four blocks: spoken output (no markdown, sentences under 20 words, numbers written as spoken), persona, task flow and tools, and a read-back confirmation script. Numbers in the prompt's own examples must also be written as spoken, because the model copies the form it sees. The collection is vendor neutral, with adapter code for LiveKit, Pipecat and Vapi.
Who it's for:developers, product managers and prompt engineers building voice agents and phone support bots.
Before you start: install with npx skills add, which needs Node.js 22.20 or later. It works with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot and Gemini CLI. Licensed under MIT.
