Tutor Skills

Tutor Skills is a pair of open-source study Skills by GitHub user bevibing (credited as tak). The first, /tutor-setup, scans the PDFs, Markdown, web pages, EPUBs and other material in the current folder and builds an Obsidian study vault: concept notes sorted by topic with comparison tables and diagrams, practice questions with hidden answers, plus a map of contents, a quick reference and an exam-traps page. If the folder is a code project, it builds an onboarding guide for new developers instead. The second, /tutor, quizzes you from that vault, four questions a round, grades your answers and tracks how well you know each concept. What sets it apart is that it joins note-making and active-recall quizzing into one loop, writing quiz results back into the vault.

Who it's for:self-learners working through a pile of reading, preparing for an exam, or taking over an unfamiliar codebase.

Before you start: the README presents these as Claude Code Skills. Copy the two Skill folders into ~/.claude/skills by hand, or run the repository's install.sh, which only copies files and asks before replacing a folder with the same name. The README's install address still uses the old account name RoundTable02, which now redirects to bevibing/tutor-skills. When it handles PDFs without the right tool, it may suggest installing Poppler; that's your call. It reads everything in the current folder and writes into the vault, so don't run it in a folder with sensitive files. uninstall.sh deletes both Skill folders outright. It looks best in Obsidian, though Obsidian isn't required. MIT license.
