tech-resume

tech-resume is an Agent Skill by Mike Zupan for Claude Code, Codex, IBM Bob, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode. It writes resumes and cover letters tailored to tech jobs. On first use, profile interview has the AI ask about your past work and build a profile; an old resume can come in as a file or as a PDF you export from LinkedIn yourself. For each job, your AI tool reads the posting link, or you paste the job description, and the apply command produces the materials as DOCX and PDF. You submit the application yourself. SKILL.md says never to invent facts: numbers, titles, dates and technologies have to come from you or your documents, and the AI asks when something is missing. It also forbids white text, hidden text and prompt injection aimed at resume screeners.

Who it's for:Tech job seekers who already use command-line AI tools such as Claude Code or Codex. If you don't write code, you won't get much use from it.

Before you start: You need Python 3.9 or later. Install with git clone or by copying the folder, then run pip install -r requirements.txt to add python-docx, reportlab and pypdf. The README also recommends installing poppler with brew or apt. Your AI tool must be able to read files and run shell commands. The docs are in English, with command examples for macOS and Linux. The profile/ and applications/ folders keep your full personal details in a local working directory you choose, and the README warns against putting them in a public repo. Your resume, job descriptions and writing samples go to whichever AI model you use. The optional humanizer and unslop add-ons are separate repos that AI Inspiration World has not reviewed, and we don't recommend installing them. The Skill is free; your AI tool's account and usage costs are separate. MIT license.
