What it is
Chinese Tech Doc Style is an open-source writing Skill by GitHub user Fenng for drafting, rewriting, proofreading and reviewing Chinese technical docs, product copy and interface text. The README says its aim is restrained, accurate, readable technical Chinese, and it targets a few common problems: vague, promotional wording; hard-to-read mixes of Chinese, English and numbers; English status words translated too literally; pages with unbalanced information density; and steps whose terms and conditions aren't clear. It covers doc home pages, API references, error codes, changelogs, manuals, troubleshooting guides, product pages and button labels. Code, JSON keys, URLs and commands are left exactly as they are. What sets it apart is two small local tools that come with it: one checks the copy rules, the other tidies Markdown line breaks.
Who it's for:anyone writing Chinese product copy, technical explainers, manuals or troubleshooting docs, programmers or not.
Before you start: install with npx skills add, a third-party installer that downloads files, or copy the repository into the skills folder of Codex or Claude; you can also pin a release. The checker only reads files and reports issues; the line-break tool previews changes by default and only writes with --write. There's no account, API key or upload service; your text is processed by the AI you use. MIT license.
