What it is

superpowers comes from Jesse Vincent and Prime Radiant. It is a development method for coding agents, made of composable skills and startup instructions. It splits the work into stages: the agent first asks questions to pin down the idea and presents a design, then opens a separate Git worktree and writes a plan of small tasks of two to five minutes each. Subagents or the main agent then build each task with test-driven development (TDD), writing a failing test first and then the minimum code to pass it, and the work ends with a code review against the plan and a decision on how to merge. Included skills cover brainstorming, writing-plans, test-driven-development, systematic-debugging and requesting-code-review, among others. The README lists more than a dozen supported tools, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot CLI and OpenCode.

Who it's for:developers who often hand larger features to an agent and want fewer wrong turns. Readers who don't write code won't need it.

Before you start: install through each tool's plugin marketplace or the repository URL; the README has the steps for every tool. It runs automatically at the start of each session, changes how the agent works, and lets the agent read and write your code and Git branches. An optional visual companion loads a logo carrying the version number from the Prime Radiant website by default; the authors say no project or prompt details are sent, and the `SUPERPOWERS_DISABLE_TELEMETRY` environment variable turns it off. The README lists no fees, and your host model costs still apply. MIT license.
