Rust off Rails

Rust off Rails is an open-source Rust web framework that its README describes as "a web framework for AI coding agents." It guides coding agents through building full-stack Rust apps using written conventions and real app templates. The repository has 9 skills covering new projects, generation, scaffolding, features, health checks, upgrades, deployment and security, and the security skill is only for reviewing your own local app.

Who it's for:Developers using AI coding agents such as Claude Code who want to build web apps in Rust. Readers who don't write code won't have a use for it.

Before you start: The website installs it by piping a remote script into sh with curl. The script checks for or offers to install rustup and cargo-binstall, downloads prebuilt tools and the framework (verifying SHA256), and writes to ~/.offrails/<version> and ~/.local/bin/offrails. The Claude plugin installs at user scope by default and registers 5 automatic hooks that run check scripts when a session starts, when files are edited, when commands run and when the session ends. The project says the hooks only act inside Rust off Rails projects, but not every hook was reviewed. AI Inspiration World doesn't recommend running the remote installer unread, installing the automatic hooks or using automated deployment; review it first and use the core conventions by hand inside your project. The installer also has options to skip the toolchain, skip the agent plugins, or just point your agent at the project's AGENTS.md. Installing contacts GitHub, rustup and crates, and the project says the installer collects no usage data; your coding agent sends code context to its own model provider. The framework is free under your choice of MIT or Apache-2.0; AI subscriptions and hosting cost extra.
