What it is
The Replica skill is a set of 11 Claude skills by GitHub user Jakeschincariol that run as a relay: map the screens, flows and data model of the app you want to rebuild, plan the stack and database, rebuild the design, wire up auth and payments, test for bugs, score your version against the original, then give it a new name, write the landing page and ship it on your own domain. Each step writes into a replica/ folder in your project and the next one reads it. The author states it rebuilds features and flows only, never the target's code, logo, copy or content, and the skills enforce a full rebrand before launch. What sets it apart is a step that reads real user reviews of the original and turns the top complaints into fixes for your version.
Highlights:
- Free, with no sign-up and no API key
- six helper tools use only Python's standard library, and the README says none touch the network
- /replica-diff gives a parity score against the original and a list of what's missing
- review analysis keeps only reviews with links and never invents quotes or numbers.
How to use:
- First run /plugin marketplace add Jakeschincariol/replica-skill and /plugin install replica-skill@replica-skill in Claude Code.
- Then start with /replica-recon and give it the target app's URL.
- Finally run the steps in order through /replica-deploy, or use any one of them on its own.
Who it's for:
Indie developers who want to build their own take on an existing product.
Before you start:
- The tools need Python 3.8 or later, with nothing to pip install.
- Recon reads the target app's public pages and, with your go-ahead, your own account; the author says it never scrapes behind a login, logs into anyone else's account or gets past a paywall.
- /replica-deploy puts the project live on your own domain, and only ships after you say go.
- If you use these features, weigh the safety risks yourself.
- AI Inspiration World is not responsible for any consequences.
- The author advises running trademark checks, reading the terms of everything you used, and talking to a lawyer if money is involved; none of this is legal advice.
- Hosting, payments and other third-party costs are separate.
- MIT license.
