What it is
Remotion Agent Skills is a set of Skills for AI agents from the official Remotion team (GitHub organization remotion-dev). Remotion is a framework for making videos with React code, and these Skills teach agents like Claude Code, Codex, Kimi Code and Cursor how to use it: start a project, compose scenes in React, preview in Studio, and render videos or stills. They also cover captions, maps, interactivity, media processing, generating video inside SaaS products, searching the docs, upgrading versions and licensing. There are 13 main Skills, listed here as one collection. They are written by the people who build Remotion.
Who it's for:Developers who make videos with Remotion and want AI help writing the code. Readers who don't write code won't get much from it.
Before you start: Install with npx skills add remotion-dev/skills or gh skill install, or add them when you create a new Remotion project. Actually making videos also needs Node, Git and Remotion itself.
The agent reads the code and media in your project, writes React files and renders video. The remotion-docs Skill sends your search terms to Algolia. The rest is optional and only happens if you use it: AI voiceover sends the script text to ElevenLabs and needs an ElevenLabs API key; cloud rendering on AWS Lambda has you keep AWS access keys in a local .env file, as the guide suggests, and deploys your site, source and media there. You can also render with services like Vercel or Cloudflare. The Studio preview keeps running until you close it. Setup has no curl-to-bash step and installs no scheduled tasks.
ElevenLabs, AWS and similar services may charge you based on usage; the review found no automatic billing step.
The repo has no license file of its own at the root. The remotion-license Skill inside it explains the commercial license for the Remotion software, and it isn't a license for this repo. For how Remotion itself is licensed, see Remotion's official license page, FAQ and terms.
