What it is

Pixel2Motion is a logo animation Skill open-sourced by Nolan Lai (GitHub user nolangz), and the README says it works with Codex and Claude. Give it a logo as a PNG, JPG, WebP or screenshot, and it first writes a motion brief that sets the brand's personality and the use case (splash screen, header, loading or hover), then fits the logo as a vector with the mark, wordmark and dots split into separate elements so each can move on its own. The motion is choreographed with Disney's 12 Principles of Animation and delivered as a dependency-free HTML demo with replay, slow motion and a speed slider, plus logo.svg, a motion spec and contact sheets of captured frames for checking. On devices set to reduce motion, the page shows the final static logo straight away. What sets it apart is that smoothness is a hard gate: overlap with the source (IoU) is only a diagnostic, a jagged stair-stepped trace is rejected however well it overlaps, and the last frame of the animation has to match the approved static logo exactly. The author's page mentions a Pixel2Motion commercial service that is coming online; that is a separate offering from this open-source Skill.

Who it's for:designers and developers who want a logo intro or brand motion for their own product or site. You'll need an AI tool that runs commands, such as Codex or Claude Code; readers who don't code will find it hard going.

Before you start: the README has no one-line install, so copy SKILL.md along with the scripts and references folders into the directory your AI tool reads Skills from. You need Python 3.10 or later, a virtual environment with Pillow, numpy and Playwright, Playwright's Chromium download, and Chrome or Chromium for geometry rendering, all of which require internet access to install; the repo's video export script also uses FFmpeg. The workflow reads the logo file you point it to and writes SVG, HTML, screenshots and video locally, and the docs don't mention any API key or account. The MIT license covers this repository only; it doesn't change who owns the trademark or copyright in the logo you feed it, so only process logos and reference material you have the right to use. The Disney principles are cited as animation theory and have nothing to do with using Disney characters. The full static vector-fitting method lives in the author's separate Pixel2SVG-HTML repository, which this entry doesn't cover.

Based on the project's public documentation. Not tested by AI Inspiration World.
