What it is
Obsidian Second Brain is a skill by Eugeniu Ghelbur. The README describes it as "persistent memory for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Grok Bot." It writes that memory into a local Markdown vault, which you can open in Obsidian, and it also works with tools such as Gemini and OpenCode. It ships 8 agents and a few dozen commands (the README says 48 in one place and 49 in another), plus a shared way of working called Crew that lets agents share a log. What sets it apart is that the memory is plain note files you can open and edit yourself.
Who it's for:People who use AI assistants a lot and want them to remember their projects and habits.
Before you start: The quick install downloads a script with curl and pipes it straight into bash. AI Inspiration World does not recommend installing it that way: it runs a script from the internet on your computer without you seeing it first. It also brings hooks and 4 scheduled agents that rewrite notes overnight and write to your calendar. AI Inspiration World does not recommend switching those on as they are: they change your notes and schedule while you're away. Gemini FileSearch uploads your 12 most relevant notes, and connecting Grok, Perplexity, YouTube or OpenAI sends your input to those services. AI Inspiration World does not recommend using it on a vault with private content. The docs say the remote store is deleted afterwards; we haven't verified that. Start with a copy of a vault that holds nothing sensitive, and run searches and tidy-ups yourself. The code is free under the MIT license; models and outside services may cost extra.
