What it is
murder-board is a set of open-source skills by GitHub user MbappeWU that simulates a tough questioning panel before a high-stakes meeting. It reads your deck, finds contradictions and unstated assumptions, then seats 3 to 5 questioner personas matched to the people who will actually be in the room. It ranks 15 to 25 questions by how likely they are to come up and how much damage they could do, asks them one at a time in character, follows up on evasive answers, and scores each answer on directness, evidence, honesty, brevity, and composure, at friendly, realistic, or brutal difficulty. At the end you get a scorecard with suggested rewrites, your three weakest areas, and a prep sheet with an opening statement. The same repository includes four companion skills: pre-mortem for spotting failure points before you commit, boardroom for a simulated personal board of directors, so-what for restructuring updates with the Pyramid Principle, and sparring for rehearsing difficult one-on-one conversations.
Who it's for:anyone facing a pitch, proposal review, thesis defense, or interview who wants to hear the hard questions first.
Before you start: it runs inside an AI tool that supports skills; the README lists Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, Copilot, and others. You can install it with the npx skills add command, which downloads a package from the internet and installs it globally, or copy the folders by hand. The documentation says it is plain Markdown with no server, no API key, and no telemetry, and your material stays inside the AI tool you use; that tool's own costs still apply. Available in English and Simplified Chinese. MIT license.
