What it is
MiniMax Skills is a public skill pack from MiniMax (GitHub: MiniMax-AI). The README calls it "development skills for AI coding agents": plug it into the coding tool you already use and you get structured guidance for frontend, full-stack, Android, iOS and shader development. The repo holds 17 skills. One group covers development: frontend-dev, fullstack-dev, android-native-dev, ios-application-dev, flutter-dev, react-native-dev and shader-dev. One group covers documents: minimax-pdf, pptx-generator, minimax-xlsx and minimax-docx. The rest call MiniMax's own generation APIs: minimax-music-gen turns a one-line description or your lyrics into a song or instrumental, minimax-music-playlist builds a themed playlist from your taste, gif-sticker-maker turns photos into GIF stickers, and minimax-multimodal-toolkit is the single entry for voice, music, video and image generation. The README gives install steps for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and OpenCode. What sets it apart is that development guidance and MiniMax's music, image and video generation sit in one repo, so an agent building a page can also generate the media it needs.
Who it's for:People already coding with Claude Code, Cursor or Codex who also want to try MiniMax's music and image generation. The development skills are of no use if you don't write code, and the music skills run from the command line.
Before you start: Install an AI coding tool that supports Agent Skills first, then follow the README. Docs are mainly in English, with a Chinese README. Music and multimodal generation need the mmx command-line tool installed with npm and a MiniMax platform API key; the key is stored locally in ~/.mmx/credentials.json, and generation is billed by the MiniMax platform's rules. The README marks the project as Beta: skills, APIs and config formats may change without notice. The code is free under the MIT license.
