What it is
This is a collection of agent skills published by Matt Pocock. The README describes them as skills for real engineers and keeps each one small and composable. The engineering skills include grill-me, which questions you before any building starts so you agree on the goal; tdd, which works in a red, green, refactor loop; diagnosing-bugs, which debugs with feedback loops and instrumentation; code-review, which checks both coding standards and fit with the spec; implement-spec, which builds a whole spec with several subagents in parallel; and to-spec and to-tickets, which turn a conversation into a spec or a set of tickets. A separate group of productivity skills covers planning, teaching, decisions and communication. The repository also holds in-progress and deprecated skills, and this listing covers only the stable ones.
Who it's for:developers using Claude Code, Codex or similar tools who want the agent to follow solid engineering habits. Readers who don't write code won't need it.
Before you start: Claude Code users can install the official plugin, which is read-only and managed by the plugin system. For Codex and other tools, `npx skills@latest add mattpocock/skills` copies the skill files into your project or user folder, where you can edit them. Run /setup-matt-pocock-skills once per repository to set up your issue tracker, labels and docs location; this changes the project's agent configuration. The repository is free, and your host model costs still apply. MIT license.
