What it is
marp-slides is a Claude Code Skill by GitHub user robonuggets for making Marp decks. Marp is a tool for writing slides in Markdown. Give Claude Code a topic and it composes slides from SVG charts, metric cards, gauges, sparklines, progress bars and more, with dark and light themes. What sets it apart is the 22 example decks in the repo, from data dashboards to coffee, travel and kids' parties; SKILL.md tells Claude to read two or three examples in a matching style before it starts and to match that quality bar.
Highlights:
- The 22 examples span dashboards, lifestyle editorial, how-to guides, fun creative and travel
- components are raw HTML inside Markdown
- decks export to PDF with the Marp CLI.
How to use:
- First run git clone https://github.com/robonuggets/marp-slides.
- Then point Claude Code at it with claude --add-dir ./marp-slides, install the Marp for VS Code extension and turn on its HTML and local files settings.
- Finally ask for a deck, such as a dark-theme quarterly sales review, and export with npx @marp-team/marp-cli slides.md --pdf --allow-local-files.
Who it's for:
People who present often and want a decent deck from a one-line request.
Before you start:
- You need Claude Code and VS Code, and Node for PDF export.
- The setup turns on Marp's HTML and local file settings, so use it with slides you wrote yourself.
- Claude Code costs are separate.
- The repo has no separate license file; check with the author before reusing it or using it commercially.
