What it is
live-panel-skill is an animated panel Skill by GitHub user ythx-101. You describe nodes, edges, messages and metrics in a JSON config, and its render script turns that into an HTML page and then an MP4. The README says SKILL.md makes it a skill for Claude Code, Codex and other agents that read SKILL.md; the agent writes the JSON, renders and checks the frames itself.
The agent can handle the whole job: the model writes the config and copy, and a browser plus ffmpeg produce the frames and video. The Skill also asks that real data be sourced and simulated data be marked as simulated. The Slack and PR panels in the repo are examples only and don't connect to those accounts.
Who it's for:Developers and content makers who want to turn a system flow or data pipeline into a short animation for demos or social posts.
Before you start: Copy the Skill folder. Rendering needs Python, Chrome or Chromium, and ffmpeg; the docs cover Linux and macOS, and Windows needs WSL. It reads local JSON, scripts and fonts, writes HTML, frames and video, and starts Chrome and ffmpeg on your machine. An optional --no-sandbox flag lowers the browser's isolation. If you use these features, weigh the safety risks yourself. AI Inspiration World is not responsible for any consequences.
