What it is
laoyeye is a thinking-aid collection put together by LearnPrompt on GitHub (@aiwarts on X). It holds 25 pieces in all: 18 original prompts written by other people, 7 third-party skills, and one router skill that hands out the work. Tell /laoyeye where you're stuck, and it sorts the problem into one of six types (asking, learning, problem solving, deciding, doing, and knowing yourself) and suggests the matching prompt or skill. The README notes that the 18 prompts don't need anything installed, so you can also paste them into any AI as they are. It gathers scattered thinking prompts behind one entry point and chooses by problem type, which is what separates it from an ordinary prompt collection. The documentation is mainly in Chinese, with an English entry point.
Who it's for:People who often lean on AI to think things through or make decisions, but can't remember which prompt to use when.
Before you start: A full install creates symlinks in the skills folders of tools such as Claude Code and Codex. Several of the skills really read and write your project files and run tools, and one cleanup skill clears and deletes files once you confirm, so look before you use them. The author's own code and docs are MIT-licensed. The 18 original prompts belong to their original authors, and the author does not say whether they were licensed for republishing. Third-party skills keep their own licenses. AI tool costs are your own.
