What it is
job-scout is a job-search Skill by GitHub user gregorymm. SKILL.md calls it a personalized job search agent: it reads your CV and portfolio to build a profile, searches Google for openings, scores roles against your background, lists the top ten, and writes a tailored CV optimized for applicant tracking systems (ATS) for the roles you pick. It gives you application links and materials only; the project's PRD states that it does not auto-apply and does not contact recruiters. SKILL.md says every skill, title, date, metric and achievement must come from your original CV or portfolio, with nothing invented or embellished, and gaps stay as they are. On Claude.ai web and mobile it falls back to a Google-only mode.
Who it's for:People looking at international roles who want AI to screen openings against their background before tailoring a CV.
Before you start: Clone the repo into your user or project Skills folder; on Claude.ai you can paste the instructions by hand and upload your CV to a Project. Your profile and tailored CVs are saved locally at ~/.claude/skills/job-scout/profile.md and cv-tailored-*.md, and they contain personal details. Your CV goes to whichever AI model you use, and search terms go to Google. AI Inspiration World recommends only the Google search and local-file parts; we don't recommend the optional LinkedIn scraping. If Apify is connected in your setup, the Skill automatically calls the third-party worldunboxer/rapid-linkedin-scraper to pull LinkedIn listings, and the repo does not explain how that service works inside, including whether it uses cookies or gets around anti-scraping measures. In plain terms, once Apify is connected, an outside service goes to LinkedIn on your behalf, and the repo doesn't say how it does that. Setting up the Apify MCP also edits ~/.claude/settings.json, runs an external npx package, and needs an Apify account and token. The docs are in English. The Skill lists no price; AI tool costs are separate. The repo has no license.
Based on the project's public documentation. Not tested by AI Inspiration World.
