What it is
Godot MCP is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server by Coding-Solo (Solomon Elias). The README says it enables AI agents to launch the Godot editor, run projects, capture debug output and control project execution. Once it's running on your machine, your AI tool can also create scenes, add nodes and save resources. It has no AI model of its own, so you use it with a tool such as Claude Code, Cursor or Cline. What sets it apart is that the AI can run the game, see the errors and go back to fix the code.
Who it's for:Godot developers who want an AI coding tool to run and debug their project itself. Readers who don't write code won't be able to use it.
Before you start: You need Godot and Node 18 or later; run it directly with npx @coding-solo/godot-mcp or build it from source. It reads your project files and runs Godot on your machine, so your project's code gets executed, and logs and scene information go to the AI tool and model you use. The README's example Cline setup auto-approves running and scene-writing actions, and its troubleshooting section suggests Cursor's "Yolo Mode" to run requests automatically. We don't recommend either way of skipping your confirmation; use it on a copy of a project you trust and confirm each step. The repository is free under the MIT licence; AI tools charge under their own terms.
Based on the project's public documentation. Not tested by AI Inspiration World.
