What it is
Framefields is a video toolkit from gatewai-dev (gatewai.studio). At its core is an npm package that, in the README's words, is "one npm package that AI agents drive with code." The repo ships a set of Skills: the main Skill sets up the project, runs the first render and handles the optional AI asset flow, then hands off to the compose, effects and render Skills for compositing, effects and output. You give your coding agent the project, storyboard, media and the look you want, the agent writes code following these Skills, and the result renders to video. What sets it apart is that the whole editing pipeline is code, and rendering can happen on your own computer.
Who it's for:Developers already using AI coding agents who want to make video in code. If you don't write code, you won't need it.
Before you start: You need Node.js 22 or later. It supports Mac (Metal), Linux (Vulkan) and Windows (D3D12 or Vulkan), with notes on CPU-only rendering, and the docs are in English. Local rendering needs no Framefields account; your coding agent has its own account terms. The optional AI Gateway needs a separate account and API key and uploads your prompts and media to the model you choose; the README lists Flux, OpenAI, Seedance, Kling, Minimax, Suno, ElevenLabs and others. The Gateway is billed by usage, and we haven't checked the prices or how these services store data. The code is under the Apache-2.0 licence; rights to the media, fonts and AI-generated content in your video are yours to confirm.
Based on the project's public documentation. Not tested by AI Inspiration World.
