What it is
docu.md skills is an Agent Skill from the GitHub organization markdown-viewer, built for the docu.md Markdown pipeline. The repo now ships a single package, documd-visuals, which replaces and merges the earlier 14 Skills. It first maps what the reader is trying to understand to one of 31 goal domains, grouped into data and metrics, process and systems, infrastructure and governance, and knowledge and expression. It then reads the matching scenarios, the limits of each drawing engine and the example files before it draws. What sets it apart is that it chooses the diagram from the reader's goal first and the engine second. With the author's documd CLI you can also export documents to DOCX, PDF, EPUB, HTML or images. The README lists Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, plus manual setup for claude.ai and GitHub Copilot in VS Code.
Who it's for:Developers and technical writers who want AI to add flowcharts and data charts to their docs. Readers who don't write code won't get much from it.
Before you start: Install with npx skills add markdown-viewer/skills. If you copy it by hand into an existing Skills folder, files with the same name can be merged or replaced, so check first. Exporting documents needs the separate documd CLI. The documentation is in English only. The Skill and examples are CC BY 4.0, so commercial use is allowed with credit; the documd CLI and the draw-uml and drawio2svg tools are separate GPL-3.0 works with a different license.
