What it is
design-dna, published by GitHub user zanwei, is described by the author as an agent skill for extracting, structuring and applying visual design identity. Give it a reference site or design task and it outputs design tokens, a style description and effect constraints, then designs by those rules. The author demonstrates it in Cursor and Claude Code, and the skills CLI can install it into other tools. Breaking a reference style into structured rules makes it easier to reuse than handing the AI a screenshot.
Who it's for:Designers and front-end developers who want to carry a particular visual style into web and product interfaces.
Before you start: Install with Node or npx. Documentation is in English and Chinese, and the README lists Japanese, Korean, Spanish and other versions. It writes files into your local project. The reference site's brand and content remain under its own copyright; you can't clone someone else's brand. MIT license.
