What it is
brand-identity is a Claude Code Skill by Fatih Aydost (GitHub user fatihaydost). Describe your brand in plain words, and it asks one round of questions, builds three or four identity sets, shows them side by side on a board and waits for you to pick. The logo, type and colours in each set grow from one idea, so they belong together. What sets it apart is that it measures its work: contrast (WCAG 2.2), colour-blindness simulation, glyph coverage for the brand's languages, font licences, and how the logo reads at 16 and 32 px.
Highlights:
- It never picks for you and stops to let you choose
- the chosen set comes with an 8-page brand guidelines PDF
- you also get SVG and PNG logo files and design tokens for CSS, Tailwind and more
- give it a URL and it reads your current site and previews each set on your own pages.
How to use:
- First run /plugin marketplace add fatihaydost/brand-identity-skill in Claude Code.
- Then run /plugin install brand-identity@brand-identity-skill.
- Finally just ask, for example "Logo, fonts and colours for a specialty coffee roaster in Lisbon."
Who it's for:
Small teams, founders and designers setting up the look of a new brand.
Before you start:
- You need Python 3.10 or later and a Chromium-based browser, and uv is recommended.
- It goes online to fetch fonts from Google Fonts and GitHub and Python packages from PyPI; if you give URLs, it opens your site and competitor sites in a headless browser.
- The README says nothing is uploaded, but what you tell Claude about your brand and clients is handled under your Anthropic plan's terms.
- The author notes it doesn't search trademark registers, so clear a logo yourself before using it.
- A full run uses a lot of tokens, billed by your Claude plan.
- MIT license.
