What it is
boltz-protein-screen comes from OpenAI's official plugins repository and is part of the Boltz API plugin for Codex. Boltz is a model that predicts biomolecular structures and interactions. This Skill is for when you already have candidate proteins, peptides, antibodies or nanobodies and want to know how likely each is to bind a target protein. It does not design new proteins or screen small molecules. You assemble the candidate list and supply the target as a structure file (CIF or PDB) or as sequences only. It estimates the cost and waits for your explicit approval, submits the job, downloads results in the background, and ranks candidates by binding confidence, using iptm and related metrics to separate close scores.
Who it's for:researchers screening protein therapeutics or antibodies. If you don't work in biomedical research, it won't be useful to you.
Before you start: you need the boltz-api command-line tool and a Boltz account. This is a paid service, and the cost is estimated before you submit. Check the repository for license terms.
