What it is
BeautifulRust is a set of Rust coding skills put together by Morgan Linton (GitHub: morganlinton): three skills plus a lint configuration. rust-best-practices guides new code, rust-review produces a graded issue report for existing code, and rust-port first writes down the original behavior and tests before moving the code to Rust. The README says the skills "work with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and any other agent that reads the Agent Skills format." Pinning down the existing behavior and tests before any porting begins is the step that most separates it from an ordinary Rust style guide. You can install it as a plugin, through the skills CLI, or by copying the files.
Who it's for:Programmers who write Rust with AI coding tools, or who plan to move an older project to Rust. It is of no use if you don't write code.
Before you start: Formatting, Clippy, and tests need the Rust toolchain installed. During review it may run cargo fmt, clippy, and test; Cargo downloads dependencies and runs your project's build scripts. PRIVACY.md says the skills themselves have no telemetry and send nothing to the author; how your AI tool handles the conversation depends on that service's rules. The README warns that the bundled evals make real model calls and will cost money. The documentation is in English. The repository is MIT-licensed; the books and sites quoted in its reference notes keep their own licenses.
