What it is
Gamedev Agent Skills is a collection of game development Skills gathered by GitHub user gamedev-skills; the README calls it 76 game-dev skills for your AI coding agent. A router Skill first works out which engine you're using, such as Godot or Unity, and what the task is, then loads the matching Skill to help write code, make assets, test and publish. The README says it covers 12 engines; the repository banner and description still show older numbers, 74 Skills and 10 engines. We list the whole repository as one entry. What sets it apart is that it's organised by engine and task, so you don't have to work out which Skill to install.
Who it's for:Developers making games with an AI coding tool such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex. Readers who don't write code won't be able to use it.
Before you start: You can install it with npx skills add, which runs a third-party skills command-line tool, needs Node 22.20 or later and writes the Skills into your AI tool's Skill folder; you can also copy the files by hand. The repository includes workflows that upload and publish games to Steam and itch.io using your accounts there. We don't recommend letting the AI upload, publish or pay without your confirmation, or handing it your platform login credentials to keep. The repository is free; AI tools, models and publishing platforms charge under their own terms. The licence is Apache-2.0.
