What it is

algorithmic-art is a Skill in Anthropic's official skills repository for making generative art with code. It works in two steps. First it writes an "algorithmic philosophy" of four to six paragraphs describing what the piece expresses through mathematical processes, emergent behavior and controlled randomness. Then it turns that philosophy into a p5.js program. The result is a self-contained HTML page with sliders and color pickers in a sidebar for adjusting parameters live. Randomness is seeded, so the same seed always draws the same image, and you can step through seeds to see what else the same rules produce. It asks for original work and avoids copying existing artists.
