What it is
agents-sdk comes from OpenAI's official plugins repository and is part of the openai-developers plugin for Codex, OpenAI's coding agent. It has Codex turn an idea, a code repository or earlier work into a runnable Agents SDK app, covering local verification, evaluation and deployment. It starts small: read the official Agents guide first, build a single agent with static instructions, then add tools as needed, and use SandboxAgent only for tasks that need file or shell access. Python is the default; TypeScript is used on request. To deploy, the app needs an entry point, support for the PORT environment variable and a /health readiness endpoint, and is then run by a local deployment manager.
Who it's for:developers building agent apps with the OpenAI Agents SDK. If you don't write code, it won't be useful to you.
Before you start: written for Codex. You need a Python or TypeScript development environment. Check the repository for license terms.
