About the film
Between Spaces is an AI short made in spring 2025 by US filmmaker Bryan Ebzery and his East Rosebud Pictures. It runs about 8 minutes 41 seconds, and his site calls it "an award-winning AI-generated film". AI Film Festival Japan's official description says the story drifts between waking and dreaming: plastic soldiers walk with giants, memories become myth, and the film looks back on childhood wonder, loss and innocence. Ebzery says the film has no dialogue and that he used more than 12 tools, including ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, Runway, Kling and ElevenLabs. It received Finalist Recognition at AI Film Festival Japan 2025, and Best AI Short plus four audience awards at the September 2025 AI International Film Festival. In 2026 it won the Aftertone award in UnHuman Shorts Season II.
Who it's for:viewers drawn to poetic, dreamlike films about childhood memory.
