What it is
Tidewake Isle is a pixel-art browser adventure by htmedia. You wash ashore on a small island whose lighthouse has gone dark. Every two minutes the tide goes out and comes back in, and the island changes with it. At low tide you walk across wet sand to tide pools, caves and hidden items; at high tide you row a small boat over the flats and the reef to other islets. You help three sea creatures (Kibo the hermit crab, Lumi the starfish and Zuri the octopus), solve tide puzzles, find three lost lighthouse parts and light the lamp again. Once you earn the Tide Conch, you can change the tide yourself instead of waiting. There's no combat and no game over: if the tide catches you, it carries you back to shore, and a hint arrow shows up when you're unsure where to go. The author says it takes about 20 to 30 minutes from start to ending. The author's AI disclosure on the page lists AI assistance for code, graphics, sounds and text, without naming a model.
