What it is
The Last Ferry is a point-and-click game on itch.io from the team behind Arcweave, a narrative design tool, labeled as a Prototype. The page is clear about who did what: "Every line the player reads was written by a person. The AI wrote the code, the placeholder art and the sound." The model was GPT-Astra on high. It's an experiment. The team wrote one small game and gave the same story to the same AI in two forms, once as an Arcweave project export and once as a plain design document, to see how the results differ. This entry links the export version. The page says it worked on the first try, and that the team then made three changes (a renamed ferryman, a new condition on the exit, and a new character with a third ending), which the AI applied cleanly. The design-document version has its own itch.io page. It lays the split out in the open, people on the story and AI on the build, and lets you compare two versions side by side.
Who it's for: players who like short narrative games, and writers and game designers curious what happens when you hand a finished story to an AI to build.
Before you start: it runs in the browser with no install, the itch.io page asks for no sign-in (only commenting needs an itch.io account), and the page credits Arcweave. It's a prototype with placeholder art; the page gives no instructions or story summary, the interface is in English, and phone support and age rating aren't mentioned. We didn't run the game or read its code, so we haven't checked whether it goes online or what it saves. It's free to play; we found no license for reusing the work, so free to play doesn't mean free to adapt.
