What it is
Stork Flight is a tap-to-fly game by ryeggouti. Each tap makes the stork flap once as it threads past the minarets and storm clouds of a Moroccan city. There are three difficulty levels, medals unlock 4 different storks, and you can play a friend one-on-one with a 4-letter room code. What sets it apart is the see-through rival stork: the author used reinforcement learning to train an AI to play the game, then added AI snapshots from different stages of training as opponents, from beginner to seasoned. The README also says the author had help from an AI coding assistant when writing the code.
Who it's for: Anyone after a few minutes of play on their phone, and people curious about how an AI teaches itself to play a game.
Before you start: The browser version works on phones, computers and tablets, and the page shows no charge. The interface is in English. The author says solo play and AI races work offline; only one-on-one online play needs a connection, and it needs no account, with your nickname saved in your own browser. In online play, game data goes directly between the two devices, while room matching goes through a public PeerJS server that can see connection details. There is also an Android 7+ install file that you have to sideload from outside an app store; we suggest the browser version. The code is open source under the MIT licence.
