What it is
stackkeep is a castle defense strategy game by itch.io creator Johnnysuzuki1234, playable in the browser. You build a castle from walls, pillars and beams, place weapons, workshops and barracks while thinking about load-bearing and firing lines, and then the castle defends itself through five siege waves. After a win you pick one of three rewards, repair, and rebuild. There's a sample castle, pause and 2x speed. The creator says ChatGPT and Codex assisted with implementation, design iteration, debugging, code-based testing and translation between Japanese and English; the visuals are drawn in Canvas and SVG code, the cover was made with ChatGPT, and the audio is generated in code.
Who it's for: Strategy players who like designing a structure and seeing whether it holds.
Before you start: Free in the browser. The creator says it's designed for portrait mode on phones and also works with mouse clicks. The game is in English and Japanese. The page lists it as In development. Where saves are stored and whether scores go online aren't stated. No age rating or license for the whole game is given.
