Sketching Fish

What it is

Sketching Fish is a browser rhythm fishing game by HF Doodle Studio. The lake, sea, and swamp are drawn in crayon inside a child's sketchbook, and the fish are made from stationery, like the Pencil Eel and the Eraser Shark. The whole game uses one button: each fish is set to one of 11 beat patterns, and you have to tap along to land it, which takes about 10 seconds a catch. The book holds 75 fish. Fill 15 lake species to open the sea, and 18 sea species to open the swamp. Three legendary fish have a pity system, so the page says you'll always meet them. There are also 36 achievements and personal records. The game has no image files at all; every wobbly crayon line is drawn by code while you play. The author says the design and every decision are theirs, the code was written with Claude, and the three background tracks were composed with Google Gemini.

Who it's for: Players who like filling a collection book and want a relaxed rhythm game.

Before you start: It runs in the browser with no download. Click or press Space to play. The page says mobile is supported, with landscape recommended. It's available in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese. The page says it's free to play; check the game page for current terms. Coins, rods, and bait are all earned in play, and the page doesn't mention spending real money. All rights are reserved by HF Doodle Studio, and the author asks players to play it on its itch.io page rather than reuploading it elsewhere.
