What it is
Hanakawa is a browser 3D game by buildwithsid. You take a small boat out from a village landing and head upstream along a Japanese canal hung with lanterns; the first goal is to pass under the Vermilion Bridge. The game has a river map and log, three camera modes (follow, helm and photo), and it saves at every landing and every completed objective. The author says on X that he made this Japanese-style boating game with Opus 5.5.
Who it's for: players who enjoy slow-paced exploring and want to wander a Japanese canal town in the browser.
Before you start: play it in a desktop browser after a short loading wait, with no sign-in; the page shows no prices or paid features. You use the keyboard and mouse (W to go ahead, S to slow down and reverse, A and D to steer, E to dock or cast off, M for the map, C to change camera, R to reset if you run aground). The interface is in English, the page lists no age rating, and it does not say whether phones are supported.
