What it is
Hairpin of Doom is a small racing game by AI Learns Everything, played in the browser. You race a single lap of a hairpin track against an AI driver called Goldie under exactly the same physics; the author says Goldie taught itself the track over 50 generations of evolution. There's a slow practice mode and a ghost you can turn on to compare lines, and hitting a wall or stopping for 3 seconds ends the run. The game comes from the first episode of the author's training video series "AI Learns to Drive From Scratch", and the author's AI disclosure lists code and text as AI-assisted.
Who it's for: Fans of time trials who want to see whether they can beat a self-taught AI.
Before you start: It's free. Use WASD or the arrow keys on a computer, or the on-screen buttons on a phone. Finishing a lap gives you a lap code; to get on the record you post it yourself in the itch.io comments (which needs an itch.io login), and the author replays it to check. The game doesn't upload scores automatically. The page is in English.
Based on the author's itch.io page. Not tested by AI Inspiration World.
