What it is
Grav Wars is a browser duel by itch.io creator GravWars, whose game page sums it up as "Every shot bends." Two ships take turns firing through a sky of planets, stars and black holes, and gravity curves every missile on the way; the first to hit the other ship wins the round. You aim by dragging with a mouse or finger, where the direction sets the angle and the length sets the speed, and your last shot's path stays on screen so you can adjust. Play two-player on one device, or take on the computer at three skill levels. The sky includes five kinds of star, such as pulsars, binaries and red giants, black holes get a relativity correction, and pressing V switches to a 3D "spacetime sheet" view. The author's AI disclosure on the game page says AI assisted with the code, graphics and sound; it doesn't say which model.
Who it's for: Players who enjoy turn-based artillery games and want to challenge a friend on one screen, and anyone curious about gravity and black holes.
Before you start: Play right in the browser with no download or account; on phones, hold it sideways, and adding it to your home screen lets it run offline. Pricing is as listed on the itch.io page, which marks the game as in development. It's a homage to the 1989 DOS game Gravity Wars by Sohrab Ismail-Beigi; this version is a new game by a different author, and its source code and license haven't been published.
