What it is
FelPawns is a mod by Fel for the colony sim RimWorld, and it won Best AI Mod at the 4th Player2 AI NPC Jam. In the author's words, "This is basically the AI NPC engine.": you can talk with your colonists, they talk among themselves, and those conversations affect their relationships and moods. Workshop update notes also mention AI-assisted map generation and an AI game master that is off by default. The author says they tested it with an 8B model running locally in LM Studio and also recommends Player2, without naming a single required model.
Who it's for: RimWorld players who want colonists with more personality and stories that surprise them.
Before you start: You need RimWorld itself (pricing as listed on Steam) plus the FelCore and Harmony mods. The author currently supports Windows 64-bit only; Mac and Linux aren't supported yet. You can connect a local model or a remote service, and with a remote service your conversations and colony details go to that provider and may use credits or cost money. The public build is the game jam version, the author runs a separate closed beta, and the whole project is in early development. No public source code or license was found.
Based on the author's itch.io page, Steam Workshop notes and Player2's official winners announcement. Not tested by AI Inspiration World.
