Dragonwake

What it is

Dragonwake is a turn-based RPG by kalin_t, drawn entirely in ASCII characters. You choose a race and class, then roam an open world, delve into dungeons and pick up side quests, with turn-by-turn combat. It's an open-world RPG drawn with nothing but characters. There's a version you can play right in the browser, and the author has also released a PC version on Steam. The AI game catalog GamesByAI records it as a Vibe Jam 2026 entry made with AI, and its submission form lists Codex.

Who it's for: RPG players who like old-school text graphics and are happy to fill in the picture with imagination.
