What it is
Buddy Drop is a browser game by Wild Game Studio. Two divers are tied together and share one oxygen supply. Apart, they can each collect pearls; together, they can pass through gaps, and when both act in sync they can clear the screen before diving on. Choosing when to split up and when to stay close is the core of the game. The author says it was made through a human-directed, iterative collaboration with OpenAI Codex, which worked on the concept, design, code, procedural graphics and audio, text, testing and balance. The visuals and sound are generated by code at runtime.
