What it is
Alibi is a browser party deduction game from Charlie's Games on itch.io, for 3 to 8 players. You can pass one phone around, or have everyone join on their own phone with a 4-letter room code. Each round, an AI detective writes the case file and questions each player. Players type their answers, the detective picks out contradictions, and then everyone votes before the reveal. The author says the in-game detective runs on Google Gemini, and that a Hark AI agent helped with design, code and testing, with AI-generated avatars and cover art. What sets it apart is that every case and follow-up question is made up by the AI on the spot, so nobody has to prepare a script. The author says it is family-friendly by default and switches to prepared offline cases when the AI is busy.
Who it's for: Friends or families who want a round of lying and deduction at a get-together.
Before you start: It plays in a phone browser in portrait mode, and the page shows no charge. The game page is in English and does not list in-game languages. Players' answers go over the network to Gemini for analysis, and the game has no privacy policy of its own, so don't type real secrets or anything that identifies a real person. The AI can also get contradictions wrong. No licence is stated.
