What it is
AI Showdown is a character-guessing quiz game made in Godot by itch.io creator HappyNE. You pick a themed world, and in the author's words, "The AI will select a hidden character from that world." You narrow it down with yes-or-no questions and win if you get it within three guesses; there's also an online quick-fire quiz mode for playing against friends. The AI acts as both question-setter and referee, so every round hides a different character.
Who it's for: Players who like guessing games and want to see who knows more among their friends.
Before you start: There's a browser version plus Windows and Android downloads, with the downloads on a pay-what-you-want basis. The AI comes from a third-party platform, Player2, and the author's page says you need a free Player2 account. Player2's privacy policy says it collects account details, what you type and optional voice input, may share them with service providers and analytics and advertising services, and may use them to train AI models. The question sets touch on characters from anime, film and TV, which belong to their respective rights holders. The author says it supports computers, phones and several languages; we haven't played it.
