What it is
Woven Video is a native Mac AI video editor by Woven Labs. You say in the chat box what you want, and it edits the timeline, adds captions and effects, or generates footage. The AI side can use a paid ChatGPT plan you already have or Woven's own hosted credits, so you don't necessarily need your own API key. Media files and projects are mainly stored on your own computer.
Who it's for:Mac video creators who want to speed up editing by talking to the editor.
Before you start: It's Mac only for now, with no Windows or Linux version, and it needs a Woven account through Google sign-in. The 3-day trial requires a credit card and renews on the plan you picked unless you cancel. The site lists USD 25 a month billed yearly (USD 299 a year) or USD 39 month to month, each with USD 10 of hosted credit per month (USD 5 during the trial) and the option to top up; check the checkout page for current terms. Cloud AI features and captions upload the related content. The app sends usage statistics without content; automatic error reports may include snippets of replies or file names, which the company says are deleted after 90 days, and you can turn them off in settings. The site also offers a prompt for Claude or Codex to run install commands on your computer; that install route wasn't fully reviewed, so we suggest using the official DMG installer instead. It's closed-source paid software, copyright Woven Labs.
