What it is
Worldcraft Codex is a Windows desktop app by Taylli Sun that turns the world of a novel or game into a local encyclopedia. Characters, relationships, timelines and maps live in one SQLite database; articles link to each other, and hovering a link pops up a summary card.
The AI writing feature is off by default. Only after you choose a model provider and turn it on does it send the selected content to a local or online model for help. Everything is stored on your own computer, unlike most online collaboration tools.
Who it's for:writers building the world of a long novel, game or tabletop setting whose notes have grown too big to manage loosely.
Before you start: it needs Windows and is an unsigned release candidate, so the system may warn you during install. Data, including the database, assets and backups, stays on your machine by default. With AI on, selected content goes to the model service you configure, which may be online and may cost money. Whether the tool itself costs anything isn't stated. The project is UNLICENSED with all rights reserved; you can read it publicly, but that doesn't grant permission to reuse it. The interface is in Chinese.
Based on the project's public documentation. Not tested by AI Inspiration World.
