What it is
Open Code Review is a code review tool Alibaba open-sourced on GitHub. The README says "Open Code Review is an AI-powered code review CLI tool." It combines deterministic rule checks with an LLM and can review a diff or scan whole code files. Once you've configured a model endpoint it's ready to run on macOS, Windows or Linux, installed through npm, as a compiled build or from source. What sets it apart is that rule checks and model judgement happen in the same pass.
Who it's for:Developers who want an automated code review step for their team. Readers who don't write code won't get much use from it.
Before you start: Changed files are sent to the LLM you configure, and the agent may also read whole files and search the codebase. For private code, first confirm it can go to that model service, then check the endpoint, the review scope and the optional telemetry settings. The code is free under the Apache-2.0 license; your model may cost extra. The docs are in English.
