What it is
MoneyPrinterTurbo is an open-source short-video generator by GitHub user harry0703 that runs on your own computer. In the README's words, you give it a topic or keywords and it writes the script, matches footage, generates subtitles and background music, and puts it all together as a high-definition short video. The script step can use Kimi, OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek and other models, or a local model through Ollama; for voiceover there's Edge TTS, which the docs describe as free and keyless. You can use it through a web interface, the command line or an API, and it comes with an Agent Skill that lets an AI coding assistant set it up and generate videos for you. With more than 120,000 stars on GitHub, it's one of the most widely used tools of its kind.
Who it's for:Content creators who make short videos in volume and are happy to install a Python program.
Before you start: Runs on Windows 10, macOS 11 or later and Linux, needs Python 3.11 or later, and works without a dedicated graphics card. The code is free under the MIT license, but cloud models and some voice and footage services cost extra. The footage, music and voices it pulls in each carry their own terms, so MIT doesn't make the finished videos free for commercial use. The Agent Skill has your AI assistant download and install software and dependencies, including running an installer script straight from the web, so know what it will put on your computer before you use it. The tool can also post videos to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts through Upload-Post; this is off by default, and once turned on, YouTube uploads default to public. The documentation is mainly in Chinese, and the repository page includes sponsor and promotional links.
