insyte by overclockedbrains uses AI to turn written questions into interactive scenes covering concepts, algorithms and system design. You can scrub through steps, replay them, change states and discuss the scene. It separates the structure of a scene from its changing state, helping readers follow how the same system evolves. The project offers a browser interface, self-hosting and a choice of model providers.

Before you start: Self-hosting requires Node.js 20+, pnpm and service configuration. The documentation lists cloud models and local Ollama options; cloud inputs go to the selected service and charges depend on that setup. The README makes conflicting statements about whether API keys pass through the server. We do not recommend using important account keys or sensitive material until that data flow is verified. Code uses GPL-3.0; documentation is mainly English.
